Missions

We are moving as a family in Spring 2025 to volunteer as full time missionaries with Iris Global in Nacala, Northern Mozambique.

Iris Nacala is focused on outreach, seeking to meet the needs of the community through food distributions, children’s programs, well-drilling, and relief aid. Situated in the province of Nampula, part of the vision of the Nacala Iris base is to be a place of rest for missionaries and pastors working in the middle of the terrorism in the northern province of Cabo Delgado around eight hours north. Nacala is a safe zone for families.

The base is a pioneering work around three years old, and consists of a small team of four missionary couples including ourselves. Situated on the beautiful northern coast of Mozambique, Nacala is a strategic city ripe for the Gospel. It is home to the Makhuwa Nahara people, less than .02% Christian according to the Joshua Project. As a team we feel God is calling us to reach this group through evangelism, discipleship, and relief aid. Due to horrible terrorism in the north, many refugees have made their way to this city. We feel relief work will be strategic to reaching the lost who have already suffered so much. This opens the door to the Gospel so that we may share with everyone the hope of Jesus. 

The Iris base in Nacala will also host a number of programs such as Sunday church, a worship center, conferences, and University classes.

We will be living in a small home in Nacala, around 10mins drive from the base. Each missionary couple has their own property, and we will be living in community together. The kids will be attending an English speaking Montessori international school in the town of Nacala.

The first year in Nacala we will be learning Portuguese the national language intensively, investing time in the village building local relationships, regular outreach to the bush and serving in whatever roles are required at the base. Longer term our heart is burning for raising Mozambican worship leaders and pastors, helping to build a centre for music and arts in Nacala. We’re very excited to see all that the Lord will do!
